__________ ! Ciao Milano ! vol. 01 __________

By Cindy A.

So i travelled 12 hours to reach this city and i was a complete stranger here. I was definitely nervous when i touched down, walking around alone and clumsily with my bulky luggages, a tired body trying to keep myself awake and coping with the jet lag while taking the train and metro and finding the directions with no knowledge of the language. But it was so much better and easier than i imagined. People here are just so friendly, nice and helpful...in the cafe, metro or on the streets. So far i had pretty good experiences with the strangers ever since i have been here and i feel so relieved and relaxed now.

My first meal at the airport. Typical quick italian breakfast, un caffe and creme cornetto. And acqua.

The nice lady from the cafe who was very patient with my broken italian.

Taken when i was taking the train to station Cadorna. Then i took the metro train to the station near to my office. The metro was crowded as hell since it was the morning peak period when everyone was going to work. One uncle on the metro actually gave me his corner space when he saw me with my huge luggage. Even though i accidentally had my luggage rolled over his feet. :/ Dragging my luggage around the stations...up and down the long stairs was a nightmare. My arm ached for a few days after that.

The street where my office was located. I got out of the metro and had no clue of the directions. I approached an old lady and although i couldn't understand exactly what she was saying but i could sorta guess you know? She asked me to follow her and directed me the way till i reached my destination. She was super nice!

 Everyone's busy.

Office building :)

Sveva brought me to my place after a long day of travelling and settling down at the office.

View from the inside.

Cozy and nice.

First day grocery shopping in Milano. :)

Things that i noticed so far: The green line's metro train is kinda old and dirty and the door closes really quickly and harshly that someone could just die from it if he or she doesn't get in on time. They have gelato shops everywhere. And Dogs. They like to stand at the bars and cafes for coffee or breakfast instead of sitting down. And many stunningly beautiful or stylish people all over the streets especially near the Duomo. The colleagues are simply nice people and i had a great weekend getting around the town and experiencing the night life here. More pics soon!

______________ / Finally / _______________

By Cindy A.

I'm safe and sound in Milan! And crazily busy settling down, fixing stuff, office work and getting around the beautiful city! I just have so much to tell you guys...i love MILANO. But i will talk about it when i organise and post the first batch of pictures i have taken so far. I can't wait to share with you guys! Heres the pictures before the flight to Italy.

 . Ivory Sheer Top . Oh! PoupĂ©e . Black Skinny Jeans . Kasil Workshop . Boots . Gmarket Korea . Coat . Romwe .

So i googled and sources told me that it would soon be autumn for Milan starting from September so i brought mostly warm clothings and not much of summer ones. I knew it would still be summer now but i assumed its ending...but no! its hot, crazily hot now in Milano! And i spent most of my time walking outdoors... perspiring like... Oh my. I had no choice but to buy a few cheap short sleeves shirts here to get past the weather. I also regretted not bringing my shorts and sandals...and any of those lighter clothes. I just hope that it can get cooler soon so my jackets and boots are not wasted for bringing them all the way here. Okay tomorrow's a busy day for work and i need to sleep now! More on Milano soon! Ciao!

___________ Was It April Or May? __________

By Cindy A.

Yeap these photos are pretty old from April or May? Taken with Leica D-Lux 4. Love the falsies and the contact lens. Falsies was a gift from a friend i'm not sure what brand it is. Contacts was from Freshkon don't remember the exact name, ash grey or smth. And i miss this hair! Haven't been curling my hair like that for a long time, with the extensions too. As you can see i used zig zag crimper on my crown area to create volume! It looks thick here heh!

___ ! Craves ! Are You Ready For Some Rain? ___

By Cindy A.

Omg. These 3 amazing puddle-stompers are definitely what i have been searching for this year's rainy season! For rainboots, i like to keep the style simple and versatile, with beautiful and subtle details so they don't look too casual and cheap. Rainboots with studs? Crazy love! With a more feminine touch, this lacy print rainboot is just sweet and classy at the same time. I so need a pair of this. :D I also like some plainer black ones like this and this.

My past few umbrellas broke on me all the time and now im lack of one and so wanna get a nicer umbrella when the rain pours. Same as the rainboots, i prefer something black and white for easy matching. I love designs like stripes and handwritten words like these! Haha. Be stylishly prepared before we all get wet. :)

__________ Hair Before The Trip, ___________

By Cindy A.

I am leaving in a few hours time. And I suppose things will get really busy the first few days after I reached Milan...and without the internet and all I might not be able to update until I get settled down. But no worries, I have prepared and scheduled a few blog posts in advance so you guys will still get to see new things here every one or two days :)

Like my new hair?

Before this long trip ahead I was invited to Salon Vim at 313 by John Tham. I definitely had a great experience there! As I said before I haven't actually step into a salon for more than half a year and the last time I did a perm and I regretted it so much. My ends were already dry from bleaching when i had short hair and the perm made it even worse. My hair's condition was truly bad and I just had to style it everyday with curling iron so it looked decent. Oh and many people might think that i have full and healthy hair, it all goes to the styling etc. Naturally i have very straight and fine hair...very flat so i spend most of my preparation time giving volume to it using zigzag crimping iron on the crown area and some hair extensions at the bottom. It really does wonders...as you can see in my many pictures :) But at the same time its bad for your hair when you do it on daily basis.

It was already pretty late when i reached Salon Vim and John was really nice and patient while fixing my hair. Due to time constraint, he suggested doing a dye, treatment and hair trimming for that day. I didn't have much opinions because i'm always willing to try new stuff and i guess i could trust the professional telling me what suited me the most. First he did a ash-brown dye with subtle highlights from the cruise collection for me. Then he repaired the damaged hair with Hair Filling Serum, reconstructing and restoring the hair cortex . For post color treatment, he used Power Dose Color to lock in hair color by repelling moisture. Lastly he used Vitamino Color Masque to nourish the hair for long lasting color shine. He also trimmed my hair the way that it doesn't look heavy and the weight doesn't concentrate on the ends anymore. So it definitely gave volume to my crown area too.

Here are some products from Loreal that suit my dry and limp hair condition. I could really feel the difference after the treatment, my hair instantly became smooth. It used to be tangling and still a little dry everytime i washed my hair, no matter how much hair conditioner i used. I was very happy with the result and especially the hair color and highlights! I always thought that you need to bleach to achieve ash color but i was wrong. The dyeing process was pretty fast and the outcome was amazing, i like the subtle highlights that added 'volume' to the hair color. Of course my hair didn't turn magically perfect after just one-time treatment. But it certainly helped improving my hair with all the deep nourishing treatment i haven't had in a long time. The haircut made me feel lighter on the top and its really a nice change after so long.

Thanks to John and his colleagues at Salon Vim. I bothered him with many of my doubts and questions on my hair condition and i was glad that he understood my problems and also gave me a few good advices on how to style my hair better. Its not easy when you don't have thick hair naturally to begin with. But its definitely not impossible if you are willing to do something about it.

Forgot to mention, my readers will get 10% discount visiting Salon Vim :)

By Cindy A.

. White Crochet Top . Camel Envelope Bag . Floral Pink Socks . Chicwish . Ripped Denim Shorts . Vintage . Skinny Leather Belt . Asos . Ruby Suede Wedge . Red Heart Diamond Necklace . Romwe .

I can't believe its already September. Six months ago i left a place for freedom and happiness. And i never had any slight regret of making that decision. At All. Sometimes, you really need to live for yourself and not for others. Not living the way other people want you to live or be that kind of person others think you should be. I'm just not one of them. Not someone else's puppet. I hope for anyone out there, in the midst of making a difficult decision whether is it relationship or work, ask yourself what you really want and whats best for yourself... Not for anyone else. :) Even doing it makes it a tougher path, at least you chose it.

Choose life with no regrets.

___________ Thanks, With Love. ___________

By Cindy A.

I have been searching for a nice, light and simple laptop bag for my macbook. So i came across this bag at Cumulus at Wheel Lock Place. Its made of wool felt and genuine leather. I just couldn't help but fell in love with it! My boyfriend was so sweet that he decided to buy it for my birthday present in advance. I'm a lucky girl, well hes not a person who splurge on expensive gifts but for this he's willing to buy for me cos he knows how much i love it and its for my birthday! that i will be spending the day alone in Italy.

Thank you Baby.

July Issue!

Some outtakes!

Thanks to lovely Supertrash magazine all the way from Amsterdam! I have been waiting for these great pictures that were taken by Maarten Vis and it was a pleasant interview i had with Hilde Veeren! The column is called, 10 Times Me & Fashion. We shot it at Orchard Road in June. I don't know if you can tell, it was getting hotter in the morning that day when we were shooting outdoor and i was squinting under the humid sun, perspiring much too! But i was glad that everything went well with these great people.

Hope you guys like it too! :)
