______ ! Walnut Chocolate Sponge Cake ! _____

By Cindy A.

Hey guys, hope you are not sick of another chocolate cake post. :) Well I just have to make use of the existing ingredients as much as i can before they start getting unnoticed over time in my kitchen. I really don't wanna waste the stuff. And i also managed to take a few more pictures on the baking process since i got more free time. Here we go!

Basically, i followed the same recipe in my old post, you can check out the instructions there. Difference is, 1) I made a bigger cake this time so the amount of the all the ingredients doubled. Except for sugar as i wanted it to be even less sweet this time. So if you guys wanna stick to the normal amount it would be 120gm for cake/70gm for cocoa mixture. As for mine is 80gm for cake/40gm for cocoa mixture. 3) I added roasted walnuts this time. Add them with chocolate chips in the same step.

Mix butter and sugar. I melted the butter so its easier for me to mix them by hand. I don't have a beating machine.
Add the eggs, one at a time.

Sifted flour and Cocoa mixture.

Roasted walnuts and chocolate chips!

Pour mixture into greased cooker bowl.

Start baking!

Serve! :D

This time the texture is drier but still dense (rapid-cooked 2 times instead of once) and with the addition of walnuts, it tasted abit like brownie. Haha, i still prefer the previous's cake texture, softer and more moist.

As you can see, i didn't do any frosting this time unlike the previous one i baked for my friend here . If you like to add frosting you can check out the guide here ( look at the chocolate frosting part only ) that i followed. Frosting makes the cake looks more appetizing and complete, but i passed it off this time round since i wanted to eat something lighter, frosting's calories is plain devil for its main purpose is pretty much decoration! But of course i know many people LOVE the thick frosting on their cakes.

I'm using a rice cooker to bake and i'm not sure how many of you uses the same rice cooker as me but i really hope that if you do, go try it and show me the pics! I would love to see them! If you wanna try using an oven, go ahead and make sure you got the temperature and timing right, google and you can find many reliable sources on oven-baking. :)
