__________ ! Ciao Milano ! vol. 01 __________

By Cindy A.

So i travelled 12 hours to reach this city and i was a complete stranger here. I was definitely nervous when i touched down, walking around alone and clumsily with my bulky luggages, a tired body trying to keep myself awake and coping with the jet lag while taking the train and metro and finding the directions with no knowledge of the language. But it was so much better and easier than i imagined. People here are just so friendly, nice and helpful...in the cafe, metro or on the streets. So far i had pretty good experiences with the strangers ever since i have been here and i feel so relieved and relaxed now.

My first meal at the airport. Typical quick italian breakfast, un caffe and creme cornetto. And acqua.

The nice lady from the cafe who was very patient with my broken italian.

Taken when i was taking the train to station Cadorna. Then i took the metro train to the station near to my office. The metro was crowded as hell since it was the morning peak period when everyone was going to work. One uncle on the metro actually gave me his corner space when he saw me with my huge luggage. Even though i accidentally had my luggage rolled over his feet. :/ Dragging my luggage around the stations...up and down the long stairs was a nightmare. My arm ached for a few days after that.

The street where my office was located. I got out of the metro and had no clue of the directions. I approached an old lady and although i couldn't understand exactly what she was saying but i could sorta guess you know? She asked me to follow her and directed me the way till i reached my destination. She was super nice!

 Everyone's busy.

Office building :)

Sveva brought me to my place after a long day of travelling and settling down at the office.

View from the inside.

Cozy and nice.

First day grocery shopping in Milano. :)

Things that i noticed so far: The green line's metro train is kinda old and dirty and the door closes really quickly and harshly that someone could just die from it if he or she doesn't get in on time. They have gelato shops everywhere. And Dogs. They like to stand at the bars and cafes for coffee or breakfast instead of sitting down. And many stunningly beautiful or stylish people all over the streets especially near the Duomo. The colleagues are simply nice people and i had a great weekend getting around the town and experiencing the night life here. More pics soon!
